Suspect At Large After Long Island Bank Robbery

A suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of cash after robbing a Long Island bank, police said.

A man walked into Roslyn Savings Bank on Hempstead Turnpike in West Hempstead at approximately 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 17, Nassau County Police said. He proceeded to approach a teller, passing a note demanding money.

According to police, the teller complied, and the suspect fled on foot southbound with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect was described by police as an African American man in his 30s who is between 6-foot-2 and 6-foot-4 with a thin build and dark complexion. At the time of the robbery he was wearing a black jacket and hooded sweatshirt.

At the time of the bank robbery, there were seven employees and two customers inside the building. No injuries were reported.
